I booked a "clase privada" to improve my - very, very basic - Spanish during a short stay in Bilbao.

Thanks to the excellent communication with the team of ELE and their great flexibility they were able to provide me with an eight day course, with 1,5 to 2,5 hours/day. I enjoyed the lessons immensely. The teachers - mainly Miranda and for a few hours Aroah, both highly committed professionals - did a fantastic job. Notwithstanding my difficulties to express myself in Spanish they patiently encouraged me to talk only in Spanish which was a very inspiring experience and helped me to improve a lot.

The course material and the texts which Miranda and Aroah had prepared matched my language skills perfectly and led to interesting and entertaining discussions. It is noteworthy that the professional and focused manner of teaching was always accompanied by a good sense of humour which made it a pleasure for me as a pensioner to find myself in the role of the pupil again.

Para ir al grano, it was an excellent experience which I would love to repeat in the future.

I took the beginner level course for 7 weeks. First it was challenging to follow the lessons because the teachers only spoke Spanish but I understand that maybe it's one part of their teaching method. In fact it worked and I made a lot of progress during the course!

I spent over a week at the school, 1.5 hours per day, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The team at ELE Bilbao was such a pleasure to work with, from start to finish! Here are some of the highlights that I experienced:

1. They have a good website that was very clear, and the entrance test was very helpful to ensure that I was placed in an appropriate class - I found the level of instruction was just about right for me - challenging but not overwhelming at all.

2. The teacher, Saioa, was very enthusiastic and friendly, and the curriculum was a great mixture of a textbook with exercises, and in class exercises and a variety of other techniques.

3. The immersion level was very good - virtually no English was spoken during the classes, and it really got me thinking, talking and listening in Spanish, without any internal "translation" happening.

4. This school uses the same AULA textbooks as other schools I've attended in Valencia and Madrid, which means the instruction is easy to transition from one school to another, and if you need to be prepared for the DELE language examination, this curriculum is designed to get you there.

Overall, this school really exceeded my expectations - I had been taking Spanish here in the US for about three years, with 1.5 hours/week and homework, but this intensive instruction really moved my level of Spanish way up.

I really can't imagine a better experience, and am already planning another trip to continue my studies - and Bilbao is a wonderful city to enjoy it in - lots of food, music, theater and other culture.

Excellent academy for learning some Spanish! I had a 1.5hr private class which was intense but overall I learned a lot over 6 months. Mar and Ade were both professional and friendly. Highly recommended! I hope to return in the near future.

Muy contenta con la formación recibida "¿Cómo dar una clase de ELE? Formación ELE inicial". Un curso muy actualizado, y muy completo al incluir observaciones de las sesiones. Docentes comprometidos, y muy profesionales. Espero volver a realizar otro curso con ELE de Bilbao Spanish School., y poder ampliar fronteras laborales.

Me puse en contacto con Ele Bilbao porque quería prepararme para el examen DELE nivel C2. Una vez allí, encontré mucha profesionalidad y aun más disponibilidad por parte del profesorado, buenos consejos y pautas para afrontar las pruebas del examen. En general el trato fue excelente.

Fui a clases individuales de castellano en el nivel C1 con Miranda durante 7 meses. Es una profesora profesional y muy amable. Siempre me animó que hablara mas usando nuevo vocabulario y practicando gramática más compleja. Las clases siempre fueron muy interesantes y muy divertidas! Gracias!

The classes in the ELE de Bilbao have helped me a lot to improve my spanish, especially to become more confident in speaking, as conversation gets a lot of space. The teachers are very friendly and adapt to the rythm of the class. I can only recommend !

I had a group class (4 of us) at A2 level with Ione and Miranda, half before and half during quarantine. I would really recommend it. We did a wide variety of different style activities and exercises as well as conversation, and the teachers were really good, supportive and created a relaxing atmosphere. Transitioning to online classes was relatively easy and smooth, it was great to be able to still be having classes and developing my Spanish.

I highly recommend this school! When I lived in Bilbao Miranda Trincheri helped me to prepare my C1-exam, which I passed with high qualifications and I really believe that Miranda had a hand in that, because she helped me to focus on my weaker points. She is very professional but also very friendly, relaxed and easy-going. What I enjoyed the most about our classes was the fact that she made me talk a lot, encouraging me to find specific words or verbs on my own. Miranda has an incredible knowledge of the Spanish language and it's clear that she knows what she's doing and why she's doing it. Maybe the biggest part she had was to make me feel confident of my Spanish, which is really important when you need to do an exam. During and afterwards class I always felt like my Spanish was pretty good thanks to her approach and that's actually very motivating. Muchas gracias, Miranda!

We had the pleasure to work with this language school. My Dutch girlfriend and I lived in Bilbao, Spain for 1,5 years. They where super friendly and made learning a new language a super fun experience. ELE de Bilbao is the best place you can choose if you want to study Spanish. You´ll never get tired of the environment which is always very friendly and also professional thanks to the teachers. I loved assisting to the classes. They can adjust them depending on the needs and preferences of the students, so I was never bored. You can literally feel the teachers love their job! I highly recommend the school if you need to improve your Spanish or, for example, prepare yourself to pass the DELE exam, which was my case.

ELE de Bilbao je to najlepšie miesto, ktoré si ku štúdiu španielčiny môžte zvoliť. Priateľské a profesionálne prostredie, o ktoré sa starajú vždy dobre naladené učiteľky vás nikdy neomrzí a na hodiny budete chodiť s chuťou a dobre naladení! Hodiny vždy prispôsobia potrebám a záujmom študentov - je cítiť, že ich práca baví! Určite školu odporúčam či už si španielčinu potrebujete jednoducho zlepšiť alebo sa pripravujete na DELE, čo bol môj prípad.

I studied Spanish with Ione Alayo who works in this school and I should say she is a great teacher (and a very nice person too)! She successfully combines different methods in teaching - more traditional ones with different fun games etc. I enjoyed the classes a lot, and at the same time they were really efficient so that I made fast progress in Spanish, which is a great combination. I highly recommend taking classes with Ione!

ELE Bilbao is a very well-located Spanish school with excellent teaching staff. Deusto is a great area of Bilbao with bars, restaurants and shops nearby. I have previously been taught by Ione who is very well-qualified, experienced and friendly. She has an excellent knowledge of the Spanish language, and her classes are always interesting and good fun!
